In 1989, when I first started online MBA degrees measuring, there were only 5 accredited options in the United States.



Today, as of February 2008, according to data collected from my distance ed search company there are 168 MBA distance: 62 of these options offered by business schools degree accredited by Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).



The good news: If you are looking for an online business degree quality need not attend an unnamed school. About 30% of the programs online graduate business school that I interviewed in 2008 hold AACSB accreditation. This report is about the same for bricks and Malta B-schools.



AACSB accreditation is considered by many to be the gold standard of business school accreditation. The fact that a growing number of universities are delivering through distance methods helps confirm elearning as a respectable choice for students across America.



B-elite schools on my personal list of distance MBAs include Kelley School of Business at Babson College f. w. Olin Graduate School of Business, Indiana University, Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and Garvin School of International Management from Thunderbird Graduate School.

My survey of 2008 AACSB online options revealed 62 students should be prepared to pay more than $ 7,848 or as $ 106,400 for a grad degree AACSB accredited distance in business administration (MBA).



In 2008 the "cheaper" number one is East Carolina University (North Carolina), a public institution with a modest cost of $ 7,848 for an online MBA for residents of the State. (Non-residents will pay significantly more ($ 26,064) for this same degree).



Duke University, a private institution of the Ivy League, North Carolina, is the more expensive option at an estimated $ 106,000 ++ for their Global MBA option.



According to my national data, the average cost you could expect to pay for a distance MBA AACSB accreditation is $ 32,200.



Any best buy option for a distance MBA AACSB accredited it should cost less than the national average ($ 25,000 or less).



If the AACSB-accredited distance MBA program you are considering costs more than that you have to continue shopping online.



Be careful of the schools that seem to pop up everywhere in sponsored research. For-profits private (who advertise heavily online) will cost two or three times more on average than the local State University (and more than 80% of State colleges offer degrees online now!)



Try your best buys from lenders who already know and trust-backyard brands from publicly supported universities like the University of Wisconsin, Colorado State University and the University of Massachusetts.
